Bike positions dialed for comfort on long city rides

We map saddle, bar, and cleat relationships on a fit jig so your knees track cleanly and hands stay quiet on longer rides.

How we work

Intake ride notes

You describe hotspots, recent bike changes, and weekly distance before we unbox tools.

Static capture

We photograph your current contact points and measure reach and drop on the jig.

Dynamic passes

Short pedal intervals reveal hip rock and knee tracking; we nudge one variable at a time.

Mark & notes

Final numbers go on a printed card and stem/saddle marks so home tweaks stay honest.

Inside the studio

Abode Wharf Fit keeps a dark, quiet bay so laser lines stay readable. We refuse rushed stack-ups that skip cleat work when knees already complain.

Questions

Do I bring my own bike?

Yes. We fit the bike you ride most. Loan bikes are not part of the session.

How long is a full fit?

Plan ninety minutes including cleat work. Shorter saddle-only checks run forty-five.

Can you restore old contact points?

Bar tape, hood angle, and saddle rails can be refreshed when parts are still serviceable.

Is this medical advice?

No. We adjust mechanical contact points. Pain that persists needs a clinician, not another spacer.

Cleat rotation is marked with a fine pencil before bolts torque down, so a second pass can undo one degree without guessing.

Saddle tilt is checked with a digital level on the jig rails, not by eye across a busy workshop floor.

Bar reach changes happen after saddle height locks; reversing that order wastes the session on chasing elbow bend.

We use booking details to answer cleat questions, schedule fit slots, and keep position records.

We wipe laser targets between riders so dust does not fake a misalignment on dark frames.

Shoe walk tests catch hotspots that only appear when you unclip and push the bike in a hallway.

Printed fit cards list before and after numbers so a mechanic elsewhere can restore your marks after travel.

Hood angle tweaks of a few degrees often quiet numb fingers more than another spacer under the stem.

Night sessions use the same lamp temperature as daytime bookings so photos remain comparable across the week.
